Projects
How Indax groups events at a Site into Projects, and how each Project field is set.
Indax groups project-forming events at one Site into Projects with fixed rules, so every Project field is derived. Project-forming events include new-facility and major-modification permit actions, construction notices and incentive filings.
Grouping rules
- Events on the same permit always share a Project.
- Otherwise, an event joins the open Project if it is within 24 months of that Project's last event and within 60 months of its first. If not, it starts a new Project.
- Events from different companies never share a Project.
- An event that fits two open Projects is held back for review instead of being assigned.
Fields
| Field | How it is set |
|---|---|
status | From the latest event: application, draft or notice → permitting; final permit or program start → permitted; construction start or construction inspection → under_construction; construction end → completed; incentive filings → planned. |
project_type | From the permit action: new → new_facility; major modification → expansion; minor modification → modification; otherwise unknown. |
first_event_date, last_event_date | Dates of the first and last events in the Project. |
construction_start_date, completed_at | Construction start and end dates. |
undertaken_by edge | The permit applicant. If none is named, the Site's operator, with confidence 0.8. |
A Project keeps absorbing events for 24 months after its last one. To find active work, filter on status and a recent last_event_date (Recipe 1).
